Hiatus
Well. I'm back from New York. Was it even known that I was gone? I was working on a two-month uber-low-budget feature (that would be a fun phrase to write in German. It would be one mighty word) and living in Queens.
Things I learned:
1) When you get a horrible lung infection, take days off. Otherwise you will GET IT AGAIN after a week when you thought you were better.
2) I love riding the subway. I hate driving a car. Can't I live in LA with the great weather and unbelievable produce but do all my commuting in New York?
3) Vegetarian Dim Sum House, Gobo, Zen Palate, Sapa, Sacred Chow, Vegetarian Paradise II, Pukk, Teany, LifeThyme. Eat at all of these before you die.
4) Smiley's. Perfect for those Paton's/Lion Brand urges you just need to satisfy, but don't want to spend more than $1.50 per skein. (Also: discontinued yarns like...Cotton-Ease and Upcountry.)
5) School Products. Perfect for those 100% cashmere or baby camel/merino blend urges you must satisfy, but don't want to spend more than $4.50 per skein.
Can't complain about the hotter weather here, but I'm moving all my furniture today. I guess that means I can complain, today.
Here's our lovely monitor showing the setting of our film's big scene.

Vegetarian Dim Sum House: Delicious.
Zen Palate: Once gave me a bug in my food.
Vegetarian Paradise II: I used to eat here ALL THE TIME. Love it.
See you tonight!
You weren't at Stitch n Bitch!
Ack! I wanted to see you guys, but I couldn't get out the front door of my apartment through the piles of boxes. Okay, I could have crawled over, but I'm starting on a feature tomorrow and had to unpack and go grocery shopping and prep. Next week! I have next Thursday off....
